I need some crossbars that support up 800 lbs for roof tent with 2 people. Its going on 2024 Chevy Equinox RS with raised rails. What do you recommend?? I dont want something thats going collapse.

Hello James,
Thanks for writing in. The strongest roof rack we currently offer for your 2024 Chevrolet Equinox with raised rails is the Yakima TimberLine Roof Rack with CoreBar Crossbars # Y62GD, which is rated for up to 220 lbs.
That said, it is very important to follow the roof weight capacity listed by Chevrolet in your owner’s manual, since the vehicle manufacturer’s rating should always take priority if it is lower than the roof rack capacity.
With rooftop tent setups, the total traveling weight is what matters most. That includes the weight of the crossbars, the rooftop tent itself, and any gear or bedding stored inside while driving. A lot of rooftop tents list very high static capacities for when the vehicle is parked, but the actual tent weight can vary quite a bit from one model to another.
If the rooftop tent you are looking at requires T-slot channels for mounting, I would instead recommend the Yakima TimberLine Roof Rack with JetStream Crossbars # Y39YD. This system uses aluminum crossbars with built-in top channels for T-track accessories and has a 165 lb weight capacity.
