Will the Yakima 23H Mighty Mounts Work w/ 2-1/4" Wide x 3/4" Tall Crossbars?

Updated 05/25/2026 | Published 05/20/2026

Question:

Hi: Im trying to determine if the Yakima 23H Mighty Mounts will work with the factory crossbars on my 2024 Nissan Pathfinder. The bar is nearly perfectly oval, 2.25 inches in length and about .75 inches at the thickest point. Thanks.

Hey Michael, thanks for the measurements! The Yakima Mighty Mount 23H Accessory Adapters item # Y03523 will indeed work with the 2-1/4" wide x 3/4" tall crossbars on your 2024 Nissan Pathfinder. This set of four adapters are designed to fit crossbars up to 3" wide x 1" tall so you've got plenty of room. The kit does come with shims which allow it to tightly fit smaller factory crossbars like yours.

What Yakima accessories are you going to attach to your Pathfinder's crossbars with the Mighty Mounts?

Thanks Jarred. I actually am attempting to adapt a Rocky Mounts R4 tandem mount from an old round bar system to the existing roof rack. This seems to be an economical option.

@MichaelR You're welcome! I agree that does sound like a pretty inexpensive way to attach your bike rack.

Michael, Last year we converted our round crossbar Yakima rack to mount to the oval factory crossbars on our Hyundai Santa Fe, using these adapters. They worked exceptionally well. My only recommendation would be to add some soft rubber sheeting cut into strips the same width as the adapters and wrapped around your factory crossbars. I used some old bicycle inner tubes for this purpose. This will help the adapters stay in place better, without having to tighten them as much (which can stress the plastic as well as scratch your factory crossbars).
