2024 Grand Design Reflection 260RD Goose Box Compatibility and Pin Box Identification

Updated 05/05/2026 | Published 04/29/2026

Question:

Im looking to purchase a 2024 Grand Design REFLECTION 150 SERIES 260RD RV that currently has a Curt Turning point 5th wheel hitch on it. Im wanting to convert to a goose neck connection with the Reese Goose box if it will fit this RV. Can you advise if the Reese Goose Box will work to convert this RV trailer? Ive included a picture of the hitch and of an informational sticker that I cant make sense of. Thank you in advance.

Hi Brian, yes you can convert that trailer to a gooseneck setup.

Thanks for sending the photo, but that sticker does not show the pin box model, so it does not confirm compatibility. Based on your 2024 Reflection 150 and the Curt Turning Point you have, it is very likely a Lippert 1621 pattern, which would work with a Goose Box, but we still want to verify that on the actual pin box to be sure.

The easiest way to confirm is to look for a small metal tag or stamping on the pin box itself, usually on the side or underside where it bolts to the frame. It will typically say something like 1621, Rhino, or 1716. If you cannot find that, you can also call Grand Design with your VIN and they can tell you exactly what was installed. Another option is measuring the bolt pattern where the pin box mounts to the frame, but that is usually more work than just locating the tag or checking with the manufacturer. I attached a help article that explains how to measure.

If you are open to other options, we do carry the MORryde Gooseneck adapter part # MR47MV, which connects your existing pin box to a gooseneck ball and helps smooth out the ride with built in rubber cushioning. It is a solid option for simplicity, but it will not give you the same turning clearance as your current Turning Point, which is important if you have a short bed truck. This model fits the Lippert 1621.

To make sure you still have enough clearance, you can compare the distance from your hitch point or gooseneck ball to the back of your cab and subtract half the width of the front of your trailer. Since the MORryde adapter does not add any offset, your clearance will depend entirely on your truck and trailer dimensions, so it is something we would want to double check before you make the switch.

A + B) - C = Clearance
A = Distance from the fifth wheel jaw center (or gooseneck ball) to the truck cab
B = Offset used (slider clearance or Sidewinder offset)
C = Width of the nose of the trailer divided by 2

What matters most to you with this switch, gaining bed space, easier hookup, cushioned ride or something else? If you tell me your year, make model and length of the bed. I am happy to help.

Ms. Heather, I was able to contact Lippert and they advise that since it has a Curt Turning Point on it, it is a series of frames that were specifically designed to only accept Turning Point pin boxes and cannot be converted to any other pin box or gooseneck conversion. These frames were specifically designed to support being pulled by short bed pickups. They can of course be pulled by long bed pickups, you merely have to "lock" the Turning point so it doesn't rotate under the attachment point. However the attachment point won't accept a different pin box or a conversion kit. Brian Musick
