Great question, some of the pictures don't really do the color justice.
Gen-Y lists the Gen-Y Hitch 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box for Brinkley RVs - Lippert Rhino - 24K GTW - 4.5K TW # GY72SB as a black powder coat finish, but in person it doesn’t look like a typical glossy or deep black. Because of the textured coating, it usually comes across more like a dark charcoal or gunmetal gray, especially in brighter lighting. The texture diffuses light, which is why it can appear lighter or more gray than expected. In lower light or shade, it will look darker and closer to black, but overall it has more of a rugged, industrial charcoal appearance rather than a smooth, shiny black finish. I’ve attached an image that shows the color more accurately in real-world lighting.
As far as performance goes, this is a really solid upgrade. The biggest benefit is the Torsion-Flex system, which helps absorb road shock, reduce chucking, and smooth out the ride between your truck and trailer. You will notice less jerking when starting and stopping, and overall it makes towing feel more controlled and comfortable while also reducing stress on your equipment.
Another big advantage is converting over to a gooseneck setup. This allows you to tow using a ball in the bed instead of a traditional fifth wheel hitch, which simplifies the setup and removes the need to handle a heavy hitch.
If you are thinking about making the swap, it is one of those upgrades you will appreciate every time you tow.

on 5th Wheel Gooseneck Adapter

I was using a B&W slider 5th wheel, which only fit in 1 truck, 3 others have factory ball, so it frees up bed space, allows other trucks to pull the camper and should allow the camper to set a little lower in the front and pull easier. I’m looking forward to not removing the 5th wheel when I get home to pull a different trailer since the rest of our work trailers use a goose neck ball.
