Troubleshooting Trailer Leaf Springs That Have Broken Twice

Question:

I have a pj 14 ft 77inch wide trailer that had 4leaf double eye springs. 3500lb single axle one of the leafs broke and I went to a heavier 5 leaf double eye spring and replaced the pair. I went to the heavier spring because I use this for my lawn business and loaded the trailer carries 1400lbs. this was the second time the 4 leafs have broke. your thought would be appreciated,

If all of the suspension components of the trailer are in good working order and it isn't being overloaded the springs shouldn't be breaking. How much does the trailer weigh total? Are the roads you are traveling rougher than most? What weight rating springs did you go with after breaking the 3,500 lb ones?

Typically a broken leaf spring is from an overloaded trailer, I would verify that your trailer and it's cargo weigh less than the rating for the springs and also check the other suspension components.

It could be a fluke coincidence that they broke again, or there's something off about your setup that you are overlooking.
