Hi Benjamin, absolutely I can help with that, and I went ahead and reached out to Dexter to make sure we’re pointing you in the right direction so you don’t end up second guessing anything once you’ve got it apart.
Based on the axle number you provided, they confirmed you have a Dexter D40 axle, and for that setup the correct bearing kit is the Hub Bearing Kit part # BK2-100. This kit includes the correct components for your spindle, including the L68149 inner bearing, L44649 outer bearing, matching races L68111 and L44610, and the 10-19 grease seal, along with the cotter pin and tang washer, so you’re getting everything needed for one hub in one package.
It’s a really solid option because it takes the guesswork out of matching individual parts, and once installed correctly you’ll be in great shape for reliable towing without worrying about overheating or premature wear. We do recommend replacing the bearings, races, and seals at the same time rather than mixing old and new parts, since that helps everything wear evenly and reduces the chance of issues down the road.
Just keep in mind you’ll need one kit per hub, so two per axle or four total if you’re doing both axles on your trailer.
If you want to be extra safe, it never hurts to double check the numbers stamped on your existing bearings when you have them apart, but based on what Dexter confirmed, this is the correct match for your setup.
Where do you like to take the 1760BH, more local campground trips or longer cross state adventures?

Hi Heather! Your customer service is amazing, I really appreciate the extra effort you put into ensuring the right parts and making additional recommendations. Mostly camping within a couple hundred miles from home but maybe once a year I make it a little farther out. Thanks again for all your help! Ben Ibarra
