When the day winds down, this sofa turns small spaces into cozy hangouts. Drop the center console for cupholders during game night, then fold the sofa flat for overnight guests and flip it back in the morning to get your seating back.
When space matters, your furniture should keep things simple. This jackknife sofa folds flat in 3 quick steps without heavy mechanisms or separate cushions to stash. Lift the seat, pull it forward, and press down until it's flat. The padded backrest becomes part of a smooth sleeping surface, and there's open floor space below the frame for storing bedding or small totes.
When you need extra seating for dinner or evening cocktails, the fold-down center console has built-in cupholders so you and your guests won't have to set drinks on the floor where they can get kicked over. Once you're done with drinks and ready for bed, just flip up the console, fold your sofa flat, and throw your bedding on it. In the morning, just fold it back up and you're ready to relax again.
This sofa ships in manageable sections that fit through narrow RV doors, so you can bring it inside without scuffs or struggle. Once in place, bolt the hinges, tighten the included hardware, and you're ready to sit back. It's a lightweight, durable design made for smaller rigs and travelers who want to make every inch count. Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're looking at our Thomas Payne RV jack knife sofa. This is a fold down sofa. It's 64 inches long overall, and it's what the manufacturer's calling a Great Lakes Smoke color. So if you need to match it up with yours as a replacement.
Now I would call this kinda like a dark gray graphite kind of color myself, but don't take my word for it. Unfortunately, sometimes the light in the studio can make things look different. So I do wanna show you a closeup from the top down right here in the center. So that's the best I can get you with the lighting. And as you can see, got a little give to the fabric, but it's nice, smooth upholstery.
Water's gonna bead up and just run right off. Drinks, those kind of things, obviously popcorn, those kind of things you don't have to worry about either because that dip only goes that far down. Now you do have a nice cup holder here in the center. Coming over here to this side. You get a nice cup holder.
You can hold two cups or two drinks right there in the center. That's a great addition. So as I mentioned, this is primarily gonna be a replacement for something you already have most likely in place. And I do wanna throw up some images of some of our other customers, neighbors, what they've done. So the top left image, one like this model, a little bit longer, a little bit different color, obviously they use their own custom base, they got some drawers they put in there, they put in a stereo system, those kind of things.
And on the bottom right, you get a slide out. Obviously that one's a little bit not as wide as the actual one that's replacing. You can see the color differentiating on the base, that kick plate there on the bottom. So again, basically you're gonna need some kind of a box structure that this will sit on top and then screw down into. So on this bracket on the side, you've got at least 10 holes or more. Different lengths or you know, spacing. You could put screws or bolts straight down into your box. I do wanna lay, lay this down for you. Now again, if this was mounted, it's as simple as just pulling up the seat and then that would kind of go up and everything would fold down flat together. I'm gonna manipulate it here today so we can look at it real quick. And there we go. So again, nice flat, big enough for at least one or two adults, depending how big you are. Tall, those kind of things. Or a couple of grandkids or kids. Now I measured beforehand the top headrest here, down to the base. Keep in mind there's some give. I tried to go as wide as I could, given a little bit extra just to be safe, about 42 inches. So between 41 and 42 inches is what I got. Obviously whenever it's folded up, it's gonna be able to fit through doors and those kind of things. But check all your measurements to make sure you're matching up as close as possible if you're not doing a exact replacement. But again, a very nice option for you. Low maintenance, very nice padding, very comfortable, very easy to install as well. You got two bolts on this side, two bolts on the back, same on the other side. So four bolts total and it all comes with it. So it should be a pretty simple setup. Folks, like I said, I'm Steve with etrailer.
