Small Water Filter In Tight Space Of Lance 850 Truck Camper

Updated 03/25/2026 | Published 03/24/2026

Question:

I’m building out a truck camper Lance 850 and space is tight. I want clean water but don’t have room for a big setup. What would you recommend?

Hey Jake, in a tighter setup like a Lance camper, the SOLO # GB64FR is usually the easiest fit.

It’s compact, mounts directly into your water line, and still gives you 0.2-micron filtration without taking up much space. That’s why it’s popular in vans and truck campers.

If you ever want to step things up later, you can still pair it with a portable 3-stage system outside like # GB39FR - but the SOLO is a great starting point for keeping things simple and space-efficient.

Are you planning to run off a fresh tank most of the time or hook up at campgrounds?

If you're ever off-grid and use lake water etc., you might instead want to look at the Off-Grid ARX+ system # GB54FR.

I’ll mostly be using the fresh tank and trying to keep everything inside. Space is super limited so I don’t really want anything portable if I can avoid it.

@Jake Nice; yeah the SOLO is definitely your best fit - it’s about as minimal and clean of an install as you can get in a Lance truck bed camper. You’ll still get good filtration even with the compact filter. If you ever decide you want to upgrade water quality later, you could always add something external or make room inside for a bigger 3 filter permanent design - but I’d start simple like you’re thinking.
