Campground hookups can carry sediment, chlorine, and grit that standard RV filters miss. The SOLO's single-stage filter system makes that water safe to drink straight from your tap, and it actually tastes good.
Anyone who has hooked up to the water at a campground knows what can come out of those lines - sediment, chlorine, even bacteria and viruses that slip through standard RV filters. The SOLO solves that with a 0.2-micron filter that blocks particles 100 times smaller than what most RV filters catch. This gives you water you can trust for drinking and cooking straight from your RV faucet.
RV storage space is always tight. Traditional systems with 10" filters take up room and add weight. The SOLO uses 5" filters and weighs only 2 pounds, so it's small enough to mount under a sink, in a wet bay, or even a van build. Setup is simple with pre-installed 1/2" PEX fittings that tie straight into your RV's water lines. The included mounting bracket holds the filter, so it stays put while you travel.

Installed unit in Class B. Very limited space so this was perfect. Used 2 after market Stainless 1/2" NPT nipples to attach to existing PEX screw on.
Easy to install (with the right tools of course) works great, easily hidden out of site.
This is newly installed, it works, but I have no idea about longevity. The low rating is due to the lack of directions or marking on which port is the input and which is the output. Neither the Blu nor eTrailer websites provide this information either. When I called eTrailer the representative said it does not matter. This is clearly incorrect. When you take it apart it is obvious that one port supplies or takes water from the outer part of the filter while the other port connects to the inner part of the filter. My guess is that water coming into the unit should go through the outer part of the filter and then withdrawn from the inner part which is how I installed it. A simple directional arrow on the unit would solve this glaring oversight. Directional arrows are extremely common on many products, such as RV pumps.

Sorry to hear your difficulties with the install, Yancy. The ports/water flow is directional, but it is a little difficult to identify. Take a look at the black assembly head that the stainless steel canister is attached to. Right above both the inlet and outlet fittings, there should be arrows indented into the black assembly head indicating the flow direction. However, when looking at the front of the system (labels facing you), the flow direction will be from left to right, though the arrows on the black assembly head should confirm this. Sorry we didn't have a better answer when you called. These are still very new parts for us and we are getting new info on them often. What did you install it in?

Glad it worked for you, Roland! Have you had the chance to use it yet? These are still pretty new to us so we would very much like to hear your feedback on the taste of the water.
