Question:
Hello I was interested in the tst770 tire pressure monitoring system with flow thru sensors. I would need a total of five and was looking for part number for the extra one. The only ones I saw were for the 507 series. Do you sell them seperately?

Hi Bill, that’s a great question and I completely understand wanting to make sure you’ve got all five tires covered without ending up with the wrong sensor.
The TST 770 Series TPMS for RVs Part # TST94VR, is still compatible with the 507 flow through sensor part # TST-507-FT-S2. All you would need to do is program it into the 770 monitor for that fifth tire, so everything works together as one system. The 770 is essentially the updated version with a larger touchscreen and easier interface, but it uses the same sensor setup as the 507.
To add the extra sensor, you’ll install it onto the valve stem, then go into the programming mode on the 770 display, select the tire position you want to assign, and let the system learn that new sensor. Once it’s programmed, it will start reading pressure and temperature just like the others.
That will give you full coverage across all five tires and keep things simple when it comes to airing up with the flow through design. What rig are you running, and is that fifth sensor going on your spare?

I upgraded both the display and tire sensors to the 770 and flo thru from the original 507 and standard sensors only because I wanted an easier to read and program display and wouldn't have to remove the tire sensor to add air to the tire. The 770 display is better for me, through the original 507 worked just fine. The flow thru sensors must be mounted on an all metal tire valve as it's heavier than the stock sensors. I believe that the smaller original sensors are a little more accurate with regard to tire temps than the flow thru. Maybe because the sensor sits farther out into the airstream due to the all metal valves I have are longer than the original tire valves and that was necessitated because of the wheel design. Pressure readings also seem to vary more between tires while traveling but overall are fairly accurate when averaged out. They are sensitive enough to register the difference in temps for the tires on the sunny side of the trailer vs the ones on the shady side while rolling down the road at 60 mph. It's not an exact science, but serves the purpose it was designed for and I no longer have to remove the sensor to add air which really was the end result I wanted to begin with.

The kit of four was just fine, as I wasn't really concerned about the spare. If you have to use a spare, just switch sensor and you are good to go. I had a situation where I needed to replace a sensor that was broken off by a wayward fender, and ordering a kit of two with a different part number was not a problem as they were basically the same item as originals. Just programmed the new one in.
