2026 Brinkley z3100 with curtis spring system. Which disc brake conversion should i buy

Hey Michael! It looks like the 2026 Brinkley Z3100 comes with 7k axles but you will need to verify that information. Take a look at your axle tag if you aren't sure.

Assuming that is correct, I recommend the Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers # HSE7K-T1. This is a complete kit with the brakes, actuator, and brake lines. Hydrastar has a great system with a fast and reliable actuator.

After searching the internet I decided to go with the Hydrastar system. Fairly easy to install and a good price.. Had to do some different wiring but no problems. It stop like it is supposed to. I can set the brake controller on 4.5 and can tell the difference.

I installed the Hydrastar Disc Brake kit on my Solitude 310. The install was pretty straight forward, not a big fan of the copper lines but the really work well. Big difference from factory drum brakes.

They are 7000 lb axles. 2026 Brinkley z3100. Someone said something about 9/16 bolts instead of 1/2. Not sure if true. I'm taking off work for a year and plan on traveling the US mainly, maybe Canada a little.

@MichaelE wow that sounds awesome! You do want to check on the wheel studs so you have the right size for your wheel. If they're 9/16" then the # HYD87VR is the correct kit.

@RobinH What about the anti loc system? 2026 brinkley/ lippert 7k 8 on 6-1/2 9/16 5-bolt flange.

@William if you already have the Lippert ABS system and needs new hubs or brakes that would be the # LC49PX and # LC83PX. If you want to add the ABS system you're going to have to do it through an authorized dealer. They don't make all of the parts available, and programming is required so it isn't something you can just add yourself right now.

I installed the Hydrastar disk brake kit at the beginning of our 2025 season, upgrading from our drum brakes. WOW!!! what difference in stopping. I will never go back to drums again. The real test was going up into the Colorado rockies in september and having these brakes was amazing!! Install was straight forward, new rotors and bearings, pads, copper lines and actuator. I did all 4 rotors and bearings on one weekend and ran the lines the following weekend, followed by wiring and bleeding.

The Hydrastar system works great. Sometimes we have a 15000 lb payload on this tandem trailer for short distances and these brakes work perfect . I have never had drum brakes work as good as these disc brakes and I have been pulling trailers for 50 years!
