Options For Filling The Gap Between Air Bags And Bracket After Lifting A Truck

Updated 03/25/2026 | Published 03/19/2026

Question:

I have the AirLift LoadLifter 5000 airbags on my 1993 Dodge W-250. I recently replaced the rear leaf springs with slightly longer leafs lifted 2. I see the kit originally came with spacers which I no longer have. Are there other spacers available to bridge the substantial gap between the bottom of the airbag and the top of the leaf springs? I can provide a picture

Hi Matt, cool truck!

We have just what you are looking for to get your Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 working again. You are going to want to measure that distance between the bottom of the bag and the top of the bracket/leaf spring, but it should be one of the following parts:

Air Lift Universal Air Spring Spacers - 2" Lift - Qty 2 # AL52420
Air Lift Universal Air Spring Spacers - 4" Lift - Qty 2 # AL52440
Air Lift Universal Air Spring Spacers - 6" Lift - Qty 2 # AL52460

I doubt you will need the 6" spacers, but still figured I would mention them, just in case. If none of these look correct after taking your measurement, just let me know.

What do you typically tow with your W-250?

That is awesome, thank you. I'm not with the truck at the moment, but I know it will be either the 4" or the 6". I was unaware this product existed! I tow a boat, a tractor, a cattle trailer and sometimes haul a slide-in truck camper.

@MattS You're very welcome! Sounds like you tow all the things! I can see why you have air bags installed. : P Out of curiosity, what kind of truck bed camper do you have? I want to ask if it's also vintage, but is 90s stuff considered vintage already? Time is moving too quickly these days.

@LazerS yeah the airbags are awesome. As far as campers go, I just got rid of my Adventurer 80RB, so I'm in the market for another. Prior to the Adventurer, I had a mid-90's Coachmen slide-in camper. Don't remember the exact model, but it fit the vintage of the truck for sure. The slide-in campers are nice because you can still use the hitch!

@MattS Hopefully you find something cool that will match the aesthetics of your truck. They don't make things look as nice and/or unique as they used to for sure. Which is too bad. And I agree, having the hitch available for other things is definitely nice! ^___^ Have fun out there and just le me know if there is anything else I can help with!
