Hey Gary, good question, especially if you’re trying to make sure your setup can handle it without overloading things.

On the larger Velit units like # VE29QV (12K BTU), you’re looking at around 8–25 amps at 48V, with that higher number being at startup. Once it’s up and running, it typically settles down on the lower end depending on conditions.

So it’s not a huge spike compared to a lot of traditional RV ACs, but you’ll still want to make sure your battery bank and wiring are sized to handle that startup draw comfortably.

What RV are you thinking of using it on? What trips are you planning once you get it set up?
