By comparison, a basic PWM controller brings panel voltage down toward battery voltage, which can leave some available solar power unused. MPPT technology helps more of the system's available energy reach your battery throughout the day. Built-in protection guards against overcharging, wiring mistakes, and power surges, while the LCD screens and LED indicators let you check charging status, adjust settings, and identify errors. Both controllers support lithium, AGM, gel, and flooded lead-acid batteries.
