Is the Furrion Built-In RV Convection Microwave a Direct Replacement for My FMSN09 Microwave?

Updated 03/17/2026 | Published 03/13/2026

Question:

I currently have an FMSN09 microwave installed. Is this a direct size replacement for that model? If so, will I need a different trim kit for the install?

Hello Andy,

Great question.

Your current Furrion Built-In RV Microwave - 900 Watts - 0.9 Cu Ft - Black # FMSN09BL requires a cutout of 20-1/4" wide x 13-7/8" tall x 14-5/8" deep. The Furrion Built-In RV Convection Microwave and Air Fryer w/ Trim Kit - 900 Watts - 0.9 Cu Ft - Black # FR77AD you are looking to swap it out for requires a cutout of 20-1/2" wide x 13-3/8" high x 17-3/4" deep. Because the sizes are a little different, there is a good chance it will work as a replacement, but you will want to measure your current cutout to be sure.

If your cutout measurements will work, the Furrion Built-In RV Convection Microwave and Air Fryer # FR77AD comes with the correct trim kit included, since the trim piece is different than the one used with your current microwave.

I really wish I could give you a definite yes or no, but it really comes down to the size of your cabinet opening. If you measure it and it will not work and you would rather not modify the cabinet, just let me know your cutout size and I will gladly help you find an option that will fit.

What kind of RV or camper is this going in? What trip are you looking most forward to this camping season? Where are you going, what are you most excited to see?

You have to pull the measurements. Side to side, top to bottom and depth wise. The only way to pull the last measurement is to remove your current microwave and measure from the front of the cabinet to the wall where’s it’s sitting. Check clearance specs that the new microwave calls for as well.

@DwightB Thanks for the response Dwight, I should have mentioned removing the other one to get the measurement =)
