Recommended Convection Microwave for a 20-1/2 Inch Wide Cutout

Updated 09/17/2025 | Published 09/09/2025

Question:

Hi - I am trying to replace a Princess stove 18 x 18 x 18 on our 38 foot Bertram cruising boat with a convection microwave and am having trouble finding anything that might fit. The current stove/opening is 18 inches wide. It can be expanded to a max of 20 1/2 inches between cabinet walls, so I would need a model with a max 20 1/2 cut out width dimension. Also, the trim cannot exceed more than 23 in width to fit between the adjoining drawers and cabinet hinges. Are there any options? If so, we would also look for a cooktop that would fit. All A/C of course. Our shore power is 30 Amp. I could send photos if helpful. Thank you

Hey Lennine. The only convection microwave we have that would fit your 20-1/2" cutout is the Furrion Built-In RV Convection Microwave and Air Fryer w/ Trim Kit item # FR77AD. It measures 19" wide x 13-3/8" tall x 15-1/8" deep. The trim is slightly larger than your 23" max width but you can modify it. The trim measures 23-3/8" wide x 15" tall x 2-15/16" thick. Or you can go without the trim with just the Furrion Built-In RV Convection Microwave item # FR82TD.

The only electric cook top we have is the Greystone Electric RV Induction Cooktop item # 324-000127. It has 2 burners, 7" and 6-1/2" large, and measures 20-1/2" wide x 3-7/8" tall x 14-1/8" deep. It pulls up to 20 amps and has a temperature range of 120 F to 460 F.

What size is your current cook top?

The Princess stove has burners. How about the High Pointe Built-In RV Microwave # HP59ZR if we don’t want to cut or eliminate the trim?

@Lennine The High Pointe Built-In RV Microwave item # HP59ZR measures 19-1/8" wide x 11-1/2" tall x 14-13/16" deep and fits a cut out of 20" wide x 13-1/8" tall x 14-1/8" deep. This is just a standard microwave though. It is not a convection.
