Hi Peter; I'm not sure which Big Tex trailer you have but the Dexter 516 Dump Trailer Power Hoist Kit # DX78ER is designed to fit trailers with 10' to 14' dump beds. If your bed matches that size range you can use this hoist.

Are you replacing an existing hoist? Is it a 516 style layout? If you have something different installation might require some fabrication.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
