Hi, there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Timken replacement trailer wheel bearing. This is a high quality 28682 tapered roller bearing that's gonna replace an outer bearing for any of the hub models that you see on the screen there. This does use the industry-standard numbers so you can see that printed on the side there, 28682. And so you can trust that if you have that number on the bearing that you're replacing, it's gonna be a very simple swap out for you. This is also going to work with the matching races that you see listed on the screen there.
None of those races are included with this. This is just gonna be the bearing, but those are the races that this will fit into and see them properly. Now, this does have an inner diameter of 2.25 inches and it is gonna be a very high quality. If you're not familiar, Timken is one of the most well-known and highly trusted brands in the industry because their products are engineered with higher quality controls which ensures tighter tolerances and run outs than other manufacturers. So in turn, that's going to allow for less vibration and noise and allow for a longer bearing life as long as you have it installed properly.
And that higher quality is even evident in the way that this comes individually packaged in a cardboard box. Most bearings, you just get, they're stored in big piles and that sort of thing. So having these individually packaged just shows the care that they put into it. And this also has an oil coating on it, so it's gonna help prevent any sort of surface rust and that sort of thing. So when you get it, it's going to be an excellent condition, ready for you to install it.
