Question:
I will be replacing an AC on my current RV when the weather turns nicer it is a 2011 Dutchmen Denali 320RLS. I am looking for a direct replacement, but also seeing conflicting information regarding needing a new thermostat because of the change in refrigerant. Can you please advise which unit and components would be needed for this swap out.

Hey Tom! All of the new AC units use R32 refrigerant to meet the new EPA standards which started last year. R32 works a little differently compared to R410A so none of the old parts are backwards compatible. To replace your AC you will need a complete system.
If you like the 13.5k btu Advent Air the # ADV95SR (white) or # ADV52SR (black) comes with everything. This includes the AC unit, air distribution box, thermostat, and a start capacitor. These are compatible with both ducted and ductless setups.
If you want to step it up to the 15.5k we have the new # ADV99QR (white) and # ADV69QR (black) as well. These are designed for a ducted setup which should be what you have on the trailer. The newer models are also compatible with the remote # ADV67QR.
If you have any other questions about the AC switch feel free to reach out in the comments below. Where are you headed this spring with your Dutchmen Denali?
