Can 16" x 6" Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel Replace 7" Wide Wheel
Updated 02/25/2026 | Published 02/24/2026 >
Question:
I’m looking at AM20742 it appears to be the right wheel I’m looking for, but when I measure our existing one, it appears to be 7” wide. Is this a normal measurement or am I looking at the wrong product?

Hello again Hayden. Wheel width is measured bead seat to bead seat, see the attached photo. Did you measure the overall width? I'm guessing you did, and that measurement would be about at 7" for the 16" x 6" # AM20742. Assuming you need a 16" wheel with a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern I'm sure this will fit.
Did you get the new equalizers and coupler on your trailer?

We actually measured it at 6.5” when we did that. But we have some clearance issues with the fender so we’re gonna go with a 6” instead of a 7”. Thanks for the help. Yes, we did get our parts, haven’t had a chance to install yet though. Thanks for your help!
