What Brake Controller Can I Use On a 2022 Porsche Cayenne With a Factory Tow Package

Updated 07/07/2026 | Published 02/19/2026

Question:

I have a 2022 Porsche Cayenne S with the factory tow package. I want to add a prodigy p3 brake controller. Your website does not show any compatibility. Tekonsha shows this adapter: tekonsha 307200 harness Can you please help me verify the options?

Hey, Ben.

The Tekonsha 307200 harness is confirmed to fit your 2022 Porsche Cayenne with the factory tow package.

While we no longer carry Tekonsha products, including the P3, we do offer a fully plug-and-play option that works great on your Cayenne, the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller #C51180.

The Echo plugs directly into your factory 7-way at the rear of the vehicle, and your trailer then plugs into the Echo. It connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth using Curt’s free app, which lets you adjust braking power and sensitivity right from your phone.

Once it’s set, the Echo stores your last-used settings, so you won’t have to readjust each time you tow. Even if your phone isn’t connected during a trip, the controller will still apply your saved braking settings so you can tow confidently. I linked a review video we did about the controller so you can see all the cool ins and outs of it.

What kind of trailer are you planning to tow?

Of course echo brake controller works great for me you need a smartphone to watch on the board how the trailer is getting breaked From the smart phone you can adjust Power off the brake You need 12 Volts to the connector directly from the battery with 10 A fuse I helieve. I recommend this wireless device. The app is available from google play if you have android phone and quite sure is available for iphone..

This product is a life-saver. Gone are the days of playing contortion artist under the dashboard to connect wires. At 68, I'm done with gymnastics. This product was recommended to me by one of the great etrailer customer service reps. I like the fact that it is truly a "plug-and-play" product that paired with my apple 16 I-phone. One of the benefits of this product is that you can use it on different trailers that will likely have different weight configurations. I have a 2011 Layton Joey trailer and I also have a skid-loader trailer that I will be using with the same truck. This product allows you to configure the controller that works best with either my camper or my skid-loader. It saves each configuration as a pre-set. Equally helpful is that you can adjust the sensitivity of the controller "on-the-fly" if you need to reduce the sensitivity of when the brakes are applied. In slushy snow, you might not want the sensitivity too high, so you can adjust accrodingly. I HIGHLY recommend this product, and skip the big online retailers, the price I paid from etrailer was not worth the difference; especially when you take into consideration that you get to speak with a US based customer service rep, who actually has experience in towing.

@Gary Thanks for all your feedback about the Curt Echo, Gary! We don't get too much snow where we are, Wentzville, MO, so it has never dawned on me to be aware of your brake sensitivity in snowy/icy conditions. I also want to thank you for your little shoutout. We are all in the US and speak English and always happy to help when you need us!

Can you comment on whether this harness fits the 2026 Cayenne models. Not seeing definitive confirmation on this. Thank you!

@BenB Tekonsha only lists it through 2025 but it might carry over. The brand is for sale right now so nothing is getting updated, and their parts are largely out of stock, which is why that part number is no longer linked above.

@RobinH Thanks for the quick reply. That explains what seems like very little updated information on their range of products. What I'd like to see is something like the Curt Echo under dash unit for the Cayenne. Doesn't seem to be compatible though. Welcome any insight on that too. Ben

@BenB if you have the wiring in place already you can just splice in the Echo # C27JR. If you have a USCAR connector on the rear I would consider the Redarc Tow-Pro Link # RED57AR instead. This will be an easier installation, works through the app and remote, and is going to be more reliable.
