Looking for Replacement Power Trailer Jack for 1959 Shasta Airflyte Camper

Updated 02/10/2026 | Published 02/06/2026

Question:

Hello I need to replace the tongue jack on my vintage 1959 Shasta Airflyte camper. I was interested in getting one with a power drill adapter to make things easier for me whenever I move it. Im taking it cross country this year, and this jack looks like a reliable option except that it doesnt have the narrower 1 7/8inch tube that vintage campers need. But no worries, I know a place that restores vintage campers, and I can have the trailer tongue adapted to fit the larger tube of a modern tongue jack. Unless you carry a tongue jack with a narrower 1 7/8inch tube that also had a drill adapter? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey Diana, it's pretty rare to find trailer jacks that have the narrower inner tube like you need so if you can have your coupler modified to fit the 2 inch size not only would you be able to use the part # e88GV that you referenced but its going to be a lot easier to find other replacements in the future. You also could use a power jack like the Bulldog part # BD500188 if you wanted something easy to use that didn't require a drill?

I went from a power Jack that came with my 25 Airstream to this Etrailer Jack as the internal workings of my Jack had failed with no path to rebuild it. The Etrailer Jack internal design makes it repairable and much simpler design that won’t strand you. The speed when using a 3/8 drive drill is a bit slow compared to my old Jack but not slow enough to be a deal breaker for me.
