Can RoadActive Suspension Kit RAS4611 Be Used With Hellwig HE59YR Rear Anti-Sway Bar?

Updated 02/18/2026 | Published 02/02/2026

Question:

I Just recently installed a hellwig HE59YR rear anti-sway bar, on my 2022 silverado RST 1500. i am considering adding the RAS 4611 To the leaf springs, I tow a 14 ft tadem axle trailer fully loaded aprox. 7K. Would you reccomend this additional enhancement / will it work with the anti-sway bar ?

Yes, you can absolutely run the # RAS4611 alongside your Hellwig # HE59YR rear sway bar, and it’s actually a pretty common and effective combo. The two don’t interfere with each other at all. The RAS kit sits above the leaf spring and attaches to the forward U-bolt. The Hellwig bar attaches to the frame and axle. The Hellwig bar handles side-to-side control and body roll, while the RAS works vertically to support the rear suspension and reduce squat, so they complement each other rather than overlap.

Since you’re towing a fully loaded 7K tandem-axle trailer, adding the RAS makes a lot of sense if you want a bit more rear support than the sway bar alone provides. You should notice better ride height under load, a more planted feel over bumps, and less front-end lightness without making the truck ride harsh when unloaded. It’s a solid, set-and-forget upgrade once it’s preloaded correctly.

Just keep in mind the RAS kit won't work on vehicles with the one-piece composite leaf springs, so as long as you don't have those you will be good to go.

Are you mostly noticing squat, bounce over bumps, or just looking for a little more overall stability at highway speeds?

I have the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit but do not have the sway bar I like the suspension kit for heavy loads in the bed - drop pallets in it and also tow a 21 foot tandem trailer ( hauling side by sides ) helps handling and the rear does not drop as much

@Joel Thanks for the feedback, Joel! Glad to hear the RAS kit is working out for you. It definitely helps stabilize things when hauling heavy loads.

I added my spring enhancement unit to handle the squat. I has a little but only used once and plan on going a little tighter on next trip. 2022 Silverado 3.0 Duramax, pulling 20 ft car hauler.

It's been about 15 months since I installed the RAS system and it has been great handling my 8300# camping trailer. The ride & handling is fantastic pulling as well as driving with no load. I'm still impressed with the way the wheels stay planted to the road especially on the rough winding mountain roads we traveled in Tennessee last summer. I highly recommend the RAS system.

@RichardS I gotcha. I think you'll be happy with the RAS/Hellwig sway bar combo then. It'll make a big difference with all of that.

I added the Road Active Suspension to my 2023 Sierra 1500. I pull a 30' Travel Trailer weighing about 8,000 lbs. Before adding I would get a lot of bounce or porpoising when on certain elevated roads or bridges. The RAS eliminate all that and kept the truck level with the trailer hitched up. I do not use an sway bar.

@EdT Nice! Sounds like the RAS was exactly what you needed. Thanks for sharing!
