Question:
I have a 2014 Ford CMax SEL Hybrid. We installed a bike rack on the back. When the bikes are on the rack the tail lights are not visible. I would like to add lights to the rear portion of the roof when transporting the bikes. Left turn, right turn, brake lights and running lights. Can you help me the right accessories to purchase?

Hi Bruce; what kind of bike rack do you have on your C-Max? If you have the room for it, the best solution would be to use the Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights # C53201. These can stick on pretty much anywhere on your bike rack and have brake, turn, and running light functionality.
If you have a trunk mounted bike rack without any room for these, you could use magnetic lights (make sure your roof is magnetic) like # PE26UR. Both will require the installation of a 4-way # 119250KIT if you don't already have one to power the lights.

Robin, I'm sorry I took so long to get back to you. Your suggestions were exactly what I had in mind. We may still do this. While we were discussing the purchase, we thought of another possible solution. We don't like the fact that we can't use the tailgate when the bike rack is on the car. We travel full-time in our Class A motor home and tow the CMAX. So the bikes are always on the car. We are now thinking about installing a roof rack and a bike rack on top. The roof installation is a bit out of the budget we had planned. So, we've discussed the pros and cons and prefer the roof rack for convenience. I'm uncomfortable that our tail lights are not 100% visible from every angle, so I will be deciding soon. I really appreciate your extraordinary customer service. Sincerely Bruce Reissaus
