Question:

What is the maximum tire pressure these rims can handle? I want to switch from by current 5th Wheel tires and rims being ST255/85R16E to a ST235/85R17.5H set up. The tire pressure for the ST235 are between 110 and 125. Thanks, Brent

Hey Brent! The Aluminum Lynx Trailer Wheel # LI44FR itself doesn't have a max psi since the limiting factor will always be the valve stem. I reached out to Lionshead and since this one comes with a metal valve stem the max psi is 150. It will be able to handle any of the tires you're planning to use.

Are you swapping out all of your wheels and tires?

That is my plan. However, I'm concerned about road coverage should I have a blow out or damage a rim. Is it difficult to get a replacement on the road from eTrailer?

@BrentC that is difficult to answer, it really all depends on where you're at while traveling. We can help you out pretty easily as long as there is somewhere for us to send a replacement to, and you aren't in a super remote region like off in northern Canada or Alaska. Also, if you're worried about something like blowouts I recommend adding a TPMS system like # TM89FR so you can constantly monitor your tires to help avoid those issues.

@RobinH Here's the overall plan. I currently have ST255/85R16E Good Year Endurance on my Jayco Pinnacle 36kpts 5th wheel. I have blown out one tire. My research tells me these tires are 33.1 inches tall. This size tire can not be purchased with anything more than 10 ply. I want to move to a ST235/85R17.5H tire that is supposed to be 33.2" tall. The rims and tires should be able to handle 6,000 pounds each, which way more that I need, but is what I want to prevent blow outs. I went to G tires on my previous 5r with never a problem. Now we are planning a trip to the northern states next year to the national parks. I am considering purchasing 5 (and possible 6) tires and rims (as insurance) to be on the safe side. However, I plan to pay a visit to Discount Tire as they have stores across the country that is something I can't ignore. I have had great luck with eTrailer in the past, so you are a strong contender. In addition, I don't want to receive any tires that are date coded more than 6 months old, which is a primary concern going forward. What kind of deal can you give me? Would the tires be made in China or USA? Sincerely, Brent
