Will Timbren Suspension Kit # TFR250SDE Fit 2004 Ford F-250 with Utility Bed

Updated 01/26/2026 | Published 01/12/2026

Question:

Are there any reasons this set up wouldn’t fit on a 250 SRW with a Knapheide utility bed? I’ve been told yes it’ll work and no it won’t but only by associates, not product experts. If these don’t work do you have any recommendations, as I’m starting to sag pretty bad in the rear end and I’m not even overloaded. Thanks.

Hey Darrin, yes the Timbren suspension enhancement kit part # TFR250SDE that you referenced does fit your 2004 Ford F-250 with a Knapheide utility bed and will do a great job to reduce suspension sag. I will say that these are not designed to fix sagging suspension that is worn out so if that's what's going on I would recommend fixing that first. How many miles are on the factory springs?

Thanks. My springs and suspension are still in good shape so I think I’ll add the Timbren suspension kit and see how it goes. Thanks for your quick answer.

I have the timbrens on my 2004 Ford F250 super duty 6.8 4x4 crew cab short bed SRW 4:30 gears. I pull a 14,000 lb 5th wheel and those things help alot! I am glad I purchased them and not the air bags. They should work fine as the truck suspension is stock and only the box has been changed. Took 40 min to install. Your rubber bumpers are on the inside of frame not the outside.

Darren, my system works OK but if you have SAG, you might check your spring height but as for the timberline they’re OK the only problem is I live in California and recently I headed south on I five from Sacramento to Bakersfield and it was the worst ride I have ever been in my F350 crew cab pulling a 30 foot fifth wheel I had to reduce my speed down to 50 miles an hour because of the rough road and the Timberlinks didn’t help me. I’m kind of second-guessing. I should’ve put airbags on, but after I got into Nevada and then into Arizona, my return trip was on I 95 back into Reno and now I’m thinking maybe I will never head down the California highway high five or Highway 99 are so bad it just tears up the vehicle it disassembled my barbecue that was inside the trailer. All the screw shook loose and I don’t know if it damaged any of the suspension of the trailer I looked I saw no damage, but if I have to continue California, I will probably bag it. Good luck.

@RexC Have you heard of the Roadactive suspension kits? They are known to provide the best ride quality so that would be what I would recommend if you are considering a change.
