Hello Bruce,

Great question. The TorkLift Tie Downs - Custom Frame Mount - Front and Rear # TL63VV are made out of steel, while the TorkLift Tie Downs - Custom Frame Mount - Front and Rear # TL84FV are made out of aluminum and stainless steel, these are known as the Talon model.

The main reason someone would choose the steel # TL63VV set is strength at a lower cost. Steel tie downs are extremely durable and are a great choice if you regularly haul a heavy truck camper or want the most budget friendly option without sacrificing reliability.

On the other hand, the aluminum and stainless steel # TL84FV set is ideal if corrosion resistance and weight savings are priorities. Aluminum will not rust, and the stainless steel components hold up exceptionally well in harsh climates, especially if you drive in winter road salt or coastal areas. They also weigh less, which some customers prefer when managing overall payload.

Either option will be a great fit for your 2014 Ford F-250 Super Duty with factory installed hitch, and with no running boards going past the cab of the truck. Both options would pair nicely with the TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles for Frame-Mounted Tie-Downs - Stainless Steel - Black - Qty 4 # TLS9529-2-LK.

Did you just get a new in bed camper, or just getting a different truck set-up?

Hey Bruce, how did things go with the TorkLift tie downs for your F-250? Did you end up going with the steel or the aluminum and stainless steel set? Your feedback could help others choosing between the two materials.
