Does The Tongue Weight Scale On The Weigh Safe Ball Mount WS78VR Read 2,200 lbs Or Higher

Question:
I am interested in the WS78VR Black preferably in steel, 18.5k, 2.2k tongue capacities. Does the scale weight indicator read 2,200lbs or higher? My maximum tongue weight on my truck is 2,000lbs with a 2.5inch receiver but I want the scale to read higher so I dont spring it too far and throw the scale out of calibration. I would like it to read 2,200lbs to 2,500 lbs. Does it require hydraulic oil?

Hello Patrick, thanks for your questions. The Weigh Safe Hitch w/ Built-In Scale # WS78VR has a gauge that reads up to 2,500 lbs. So that will work great for your 2,000 lb trailer with some room to spare. The gauge does use hydraulic oil but it is a closed system so it's not something you will ever need to refill or top off.
What kind of trailer do you have?

Thank you Jesse for your quick response. I am about to purchase a HULK trailer and it is a 20' deck over equipment float trailer with ramps + a 5' dove tail (25' overall) , GVWR 14,000# tandem axel (7,000lb per axel) (Trailer Weight 4,604# / Payload 9,396#) Please answer the above comment (Preferably in Steel) Can I get the hitch in steel instead of aluminum and will it change the part#?
