Question:

I’ve got a 2022 Toyota RAV4 and want to run two cargo boxes for long road trips. Can the Benton rack actually support both at the same time? I'm a bit confused how it works. thanks!

Michelle, yes - the Benton Basic Hitch Cargo Carrier # B42FR can absolutely run two cargo boxes side-by-side. The left and right sliding bars move inward to give you the spacing you need for two ShellRaiser boxes # B44FR exactly like you see in the photos. The front and rear bars stay fixed, but the sliding bars do all the positioning work for you. You can also position the boxes on the front and rear bars, they just aren't adjustable as I mentioned.

Just stay under the rack’s 300-lb load rating, including the boxes and gear, and check your owner's manual to verify the capacity of your hitch.

Are the boxes stable at highway speeds?

@Michelle Yep! They’re very stable as long as they’re mounted properly to the crossbars and tightened down. The anti-rattle pin keeps the rack itself very solid at highway speeds too.
