Hello Michael,

Based on my research, your 1981 Airstream Excella 28 motorhome was built on the Chevrolet P30 motorhome chassis. You can look for the "P30" on the door jam sticker to verify.

For the front suspension, the correct parts are the Air Lift 1000 bags, kit # AL81560. These are the insert-style airbags that fit inside the front coil springs, just like the originals did from the factory.

Out back, the right choice is the Firestone Ride-Rite kit # F2080. This kit includes the airbags and brackets that mount between the frame and the leaf springs, giving you better support and a smoother ride. If you need just the bag replacement, you will need to order (2) of the # F6859.

How many miles do you have on the Airstream? What has been your greatest adventure in it, where did you go, what did you see?

Thanks Kate for your prompt reply. I've just purchased the old girl and I'm in the process of getting her road worthy.

@MickV My pleasure. Very cool Mick! I would love to get an old camper one day and do the same. My Dad used to have a 1965 Shasta that matched his 1968 Chevy truck, I was very sad to see that camper go. Please send in pictures when you get the job completed! If you have any other questions along the way, you know where to find us =)
