Do Enclosed Trailer Transition Plates Come With Hardware? What Bolts Do I Use?

Question:

Do these come with hardware or do I need to get my own bolts?

Hey Corey, good catch - hardware isn’t included with either the # M368FR steel or # M348FR aluminum plates. Most folks just source stainless or zinc-coated hardware locally so they can match what’s already on their ramp. It also depends on the style and thickness of the ramp, so that's why hardware isn't always going to be universal. Pre-drilled holes are already there, so install’s pretty quick once you line it up. I'd use a standard cordless drill or impact which would zip the screws in and be done in 5 min.

Do you know if you’re mounting it to wood or metal? I can help you pick the right bolt/screw type.

It’s a steel ramp, 1/8" or 3/16" thick plate. Probably through-bolts then?

@Corey Yep exactly, Corey. Go with some stainless through-bolts and locknuts underneath. Let me know how it looks after!

@Corey I used self-tapping screws on my aluminum ramp and they’ve held fine for a year.

@Sam Oh cool! I probably won't do that on mine since it's a little different setup on steel ramp.
