Stealth/Hidden Trailer Hitch For A 2026 Kia Sportage X-Pro Prestige Gas Model

Updated 11/26/2025 | Published 11/16/2025

Question:

Does this hitch fit non-hybrid models? And if not, can you recommend a different stealth hitch for 2026 Sportage X-Pro Prestige gas?

Hi Eugene!

I did a bunch of digging and it looks like the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # EH82KR is only listed to fit the Hybrid options for the 2026 Kia Sportage line. We do have other options, though not hidden, that are listed to fit your X-Pro Prestige gas model though, and I have the one I recommend for that listed below:

etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e38KR

The matte black finish on this hitch will allow it to blend into the vehicle significantly better than glossy options, making it look more factory. It is also American made, which is a big plus in my book. It is a fully fixed option though, so it will always be visible.

Now with all that being said, the etrailer hitch (as well as all the others we have for your vehicle other than the EcoHitch) will fit both Hybrid and gas options. The EcoHitch does have a slightly different design than the other hitch options, but not significantly. There is a chance it will fit your gas model, but I can't guaranty it. If you are willing to try and then let me know how it goes, I would be very appreciative and would also cover all the return costs if it doesn't work. Do watch the included install video to make sure you are willing to go this route though. The install will be much the same as the EcoHitch.

Also, what are you wanting to use the hitch for?

Hi Lazer, Thank you for your reply. I have plenty of experience wrenching around cars, and since you have graciously offered the free return in case it does not fit, I am willing to give it a go. I will mainly be using it for a bike rack, but I might tow a small trailer as well at some point. I will go ahead and order it, and will report here.

@LazerS As promised, here's the report. In short, I made it fit. Long explanation below: There are 3 threaded holes in each of the 2 rails the hitch attaches to, designed for the OEM hitch. These holes lined up perfectly with the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch's holes. However, this hitch, I guess due to being higher load rating than OEM, uses an extra attachment point, for which it requires you to place a rectangular plate and a bolt into a 1" cutout in the rail, further towards the front of the car. I am not sure if the position of this hole is different in the hybrid, or if this is new to 2026, but now that holes is ~1.5" closer to the back of the car, and the hole in the hitch does not line up. I went ahead and drilled a new hole in the right spot, after which point the installation was straightforward and successful. I will post this as a review as well, and will attach pictures there.

@Eugene Thanks for getting back to me! Glad to hear it's installed and ready to go! Bummer you had to drill a new hole, but at least that was all that was needed and it didn't need to be returned. Sometimes things just workout with a little bit of work. : ) Let me know if there is anything else I can help with and have fun with your new hitch!
