Question:
I have a 2026 F450 long bed on order. I have had 2 Pullrite Super 5th hitches and would like a new one to use on my new F450 puck system. I see that you have the 1400 OE Puck Series 25K Super 5th and the 4715 OEX Series 25K SuperLite. What is the difference between the 2 hitches?

Hey Tom, congrats on your new truck! The PullRite OEX SuperLite 5th-Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Prep Package item # PUL89ZR is going to be significantly lighter and easier to hook up. It weighs only 85 lbs and has a different attachment method. The included removable bracket will bolt directly to your 5th wheel trailer's kingpin. It has what looks like an upside down hitch ball that can be easily guided into the item # PUL89ZR funnel opening.
The PullRite OEX Super 5th-Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Prep Package item # PUL79ZR is more of a standard style hitch. It connects directly to your trailer's kingpin and weighs 143 lbs. The 42 lbs head is detachable though.
Unless you plan on leaving your 5th wheel hitch in the bed of your new truck, I recommend the PullRite OEX SuperLite item # PUL89ZR. It'll be easier on your back and quicker to hook up to your trailer with.
What kind of pin box does your 5th wheel trailer have?

Hi Jerred ... Thank you for your response. I have a standard pin box and plan on keeping it stock. I currently have a Pullrite Super 5th 25k in my 2006 F350. I would like to keep the hitch similar and have concerns about the OEX durability. I installed my current Super 5th in 2008 and have been very satisfied with the hitch for the past 17 years. It frequently sees a lot of weather, however I occasionally remove it with my tractor (to save my back), but manually removed it before the tractor. While I appreciate your input, I still think I will plan for the 1400. Thanks again for the assistance. ... Tom
