Looking For Hub/Drums For Dexter 6,000 lb EZ Lube Axle

Updated 12/03/2025 | Published 11/12/2025

Question:

I have Dexter ez lube 6000 axles on my 2002 sanibel wide body. The drum is 12 inch x 2 inch. 8 on 6.5 with 9/16 studs. What drum with bearings do I need. I see two options with different size outer bearings.

Hello Matthew, thanks for reaching out. We do have hubs for the Dexter 6K axles, but there are a few possible bearing combinations, so I will need a bit more info from you.

The best way to narrow down exactly what you need will be with the casting number from your hub. Hub/drums have a casting number right on the front, so if you remove a wheel you should be able to easily see it. For Dexter is should be a 4 digit number like "8-219" or something like that.

Provide me with that number and I will be able to look up your bearing info and determine exactly what hub you need.

If you do happen to have the Dexter 8-219 hubs, the correct replacement is the following:

- Dexter Trailer Hub & Drum for 5,200- to 7,000-lb Axles - 8 on 6-1/2 - 9/16" Studs - Pre-Greased # 8-219-13UC3

Hey Matthew, were you able to find the casting number on your Dexter hub? Knowing that number would confirm if the 8-219 hub and drum was the right match for your Sanibel. Your update could make it easier for others sorting through the same bearing options.
