Recommended Flat Towing Parts for a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

I would be happy to John and congrats on the new Jeep and motorhome! There are two different kinds of baseplates for the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Summit model. Which one you need is going to depend on whether or not your Jeep has tow hooks on the front end. I have listed them below:

With the tow hooks - Blue Ox Base Plate Kit item # BLU68CR

Without the tow hooks - Blue Ox Base Plate Kit item # BLU98CR

Here are the rest of the parts you will need to flat tow a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Summit Model:

Tow Bar and Safety Chains - Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,500 lbs item # BX7380

Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights item # RM63MR - This is the one you need for the Park Sense feature on your Jeep. It has all of the smart diodes, wiring, connectors, and cable that connects to your RV.

Charge Line - Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles item # RM-156-25. This option is far more reliable than the Blue Ox item # BLU44ER.

Supplemental Braking System - Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System item # BLU37TR along with the item # RM-9332 to power it. Or the Curt RVi Series Shadow 2 Flat Tow Brake System item # RVI94FR for a permanent install. This would remain installed and out of the way on your vehicle. You would just need to flip a switch to activate it. The Patriot item # BLU37TR has to be set up and broken down each time you travel.

Please note you will also need the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit item # RM-751495 if you go with the permanently installed item # RVI94FR. This makes sure your braking system isn't applying when it's not supposed to.

High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.

Hey John, how did your flat tow setup for the Grand Cherokee turn out with the Blue Ox and Roadmaster parts? Your update could make it easier for others setting up a similar motorhome and Jeep combo.
