How Much Does the MORryde RV TV Wall Mount MR38DR Weigh?

Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 10/25/2025

Question:

MORryde: I cannot find this Spec ANYWHERE. Total combined weight of the a TV Mount as well as the TV itself are critically important factors for mounting a TV in an RV. Studs are near impossible to find in the desired area not to mention that RV internal walls are paper thin ... well almost... What is the weight of the MORryde RV TV Wall Mount, Model MR38DR, alone, by itself with nothing else attached? Ive read multiple times that the most the MR38DR mount can hold, is a total 50 lb. capacity, but no where can I find the sole weight of the Mount itself - not shown with any other Specs. Can you supply me with the sole weight of the Mount itself? Mahalo, PS: Your Videos are Outstanding! AS a reference, I have a 2008 Nu-Wa RSB-363 Hitchhiker 5th wheel.

Hey Curtis, you came to the right place. The MORryde RV TV Wall Mount item # MR38DR weighs right at 8 lbs when you take out the hardware and shipping material.

Thanks for the kind words about our videos. What brand of tv are you planning on using?

Jerry - you're the Man - Mahalo! TV - Samsung - 32" Class F6000F Series, LED Full HD Smart Tizen TV (2025) Weight = 8.4 Lbs. Adding in the Mount and we're at 16.4 lbs which is excellent. Next thing is to actually Order the Mount - will do that this morning. eTrailer has clearly differentiated themselves from "others" what with your Videos on pretty much everything. Thanks you again - Excellent and oh so prompt. Most kind & helpful. Phoenix

@CurtisH Jerry: Not to be "posted" but if you watch the video for this item (Mount 38MRDR) you will see that the whole way through, the fella has the mount turned upsides down. In short, he was demonstrating the Mount 180 degrees upside down. I have taken a screen shot of the Mount in your photo above and rotated it 180 degrees to look like the way he was demonstrating it, i.e., with the chain pullout at the top. Truth is that the chain is pulled from the bottom down. Simple mistake and I was able to see the error and visualize it as it should have been. Not a problem. Unfortunately, your Reply feature will not allow me to paste in my rotated photo. Take good care. Phoenix
