Hey Mike, thanks for the information! The best weight distribution system for your 7,000 lbs Big Tex 70DM car hauler is going to be the Equal-i-zer item # EQ37100ET. This system works with tongue weights between 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs. That's going to give you a pretty wide range for using your trailer with different vehicles on it.

It looks like the 2025 Dodge Durango RT Anniversary Edition has a maximum towing capacity of 8,700 lbs.

The Equal-i-zer item # EQ37100ET has built in sway control that will keep your trailer in line with your Durango when you're going down the highway and make a sudden lane change or get passed by a semi. It's really helpful when you get sideswiped by a gust of wind too. This system includes a 2" shank and a 2-5/16" hitch ball.

Please note you will need room on your trailer's coupler between 27" - 32" back from where the hitch ball mounts. This is for the sway control brackets.

How well does your Durango tow? I've got a 2024 RT with the tow package but I've never towed anything with.

Thanks Jerred, I just purchased the Equal-i-zer you recommended. I just purchased the 2025 Durango and have only towed my trailer once. The Durango has the 343 hemi and the tow & go package, towing was effortless. My only disappointment is that the car was supposed to have a passive self leveling shock system, but it didn't really help the sag in the rear. I'm coming from a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk which had an awesome self leveling air suspension. Thanks again. Mike

@MikeT You're welcome! That's good to know about the towing. That sounds nice for daily driving but we still sell a ton of weight distribution systems to Jeep owner's who have those self leveling systems. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

@MikeT You're welcome! That's good to know about towing with a Durango. I've got a 2011 Silverado I use for towing but comfort and amenities wise it's lacking to say the least. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
