Replacement Hubs for 2015 Bear Trailer

Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 09/29/2025

Question:

I am looking for a new hub. Ideally pregreased. My wheel has a sticker showing Dexstar 14-324 14x5.5JJ 1870Lb. It is a dual axle trailer with a GVWR of 6000lb, so 3000lb axles. It was manufactured by Bear Trailers in 2015. The VIN is 41YAB2523G1062556. Thanks

Hi Justin; I'm sorry to say the information you gave me cannot be used to identify the replacement hubs for your trailer. Even the GVWR doesn't indicate axle capacity since the manufacturers pull out the tongue weight from that figure when choosing the axles. You might have 2,700 lb axles that use hubs like the # DX77UR you looked at or they could even be overrated 3,500 lb axles using a hub like # CE13515.

The best thing you can do is get a picture of your axle tag which can be used to identify the axles and hubs that will fit. If you don't have an axle tag, you will have to pull the hubs and either look for the part numbers on your bearings or measure the inner diameter of the bearings/the spindle where the bearings ride.

If you can get me that information, or email a picture of your axle tag, I can help you find the right hubs. If you respond to the email with the link for this page it will come directly to me.

Hey Justin, were you able to find the axle tag or measure the bearings on your trailer? Knowing that would make it much easier to confirm whether the Dexter or CE Smith hub fits your setup. Your update could really help others trying to match hubs for similar trailers.
