No, it does not Mark. The Furrion Chill HE Low-Profile RV AC System w/ Heat Pump item # FR86AD has a standard compressor. The new Furrion Chill Cube systems like item # FR39TD are the ones that have the variable speed compressor.

What kind of RV or trailer do you have and what brand of AC system are you replacing?

Hi Jerred I have a 30’ class C. It has a Dometic ducted heat pump currently. I was wanting the new technology variable compressor unit but it appears they are for AC only and most are for ductless applications. My current unit is struggling to cool and current is over recommended rate. I changed capacitors but no help. Any suggestions. I am on a low budget and really don’t want to purchase used Thank you kindly Mark

@Mark Hey Mark. The only ducted AC system we have with a heat pump is going to be the GE Appliances Deluxe RV AC System w/ Heat Pump item # GE52ZR in white or item # GE25ZR in black. These systems do not have a variable speed compressor but they are affordable. They require a 20-amp circuit breaker. If your power options are limited to a 15-amp circuit breaker we also have the GE Appliances HE RV AC System w/ Heat Pump item # GE45ZR. This is also a 13,500 btu system, with a built in heat pump, and is compatible with ducted setups. If you're dead set on a system with a variable speed compressor you'll need to go with a Furrion Chill Cube setup like item # FR39TD. There is no option for a heat pump to be added. You could add a furnace if you purchased the item # FR49TD that comes with a thermostat capable of controlling an option furnace.
