Can 2022 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Use Aftermarket Brake Controller

2022 Ram 2500 power wagon. Can an after market brake controller be used on this truck?

Hey Dave! An aftermarket brake controller can definitely be used on your 2022 Ram 2500. The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED87CR you looked at is what I recommend. The main unit on the Liberty installs behind the dash so only the knob is visible in the cab. This means it isn't taking up space and has a nice, clean OEM look. This version of the Liberty includes a custom wiring harness for a plug and play installation.

What kind of trailer will you be towing?

2025 Jayco 23rk. I ordered a red arc liberty and working with Will to discover why this wire harness will not fit my truck. 2022 2500 Ram Power wagon with factory controller. The rear of the factory module has a 12 pole connector. the cable I have is part #TPH-020.

@Dave are you sure you're looking at the right connector? Did you look at the installation videos on the 1500s? It will be the same connector on your 2500. Curt and Tekonsha also use the same connector as the Redarc wiring harness for the 2022 Ram 2500. That is probably a different connection point you're looking at. I don't doubt it is something related to your factory brake controller, I know some of the Rams have a separate module, but there should be a different brake controller port under the dash that matches. @RobinH I have the dash and kick panel removed and cannot find a connector the looks even close to the cable that came with the kit i ordered. is it possible I have the wrong cable? I sent pictures to Will.
