Why Do My 2024 Chevy Equinox Tires Squeal on Full Circle Exit Ramp While Flat Towing?

Question:

I installed a base plate to tow my equinox behind a class a. It works well but when i drive on a full circle exit ramp as i almost complete the turn i get a little squealing of the car tires. What do you recommend.

Hey Ben! Thanks for your purchase of the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1730 for your 2024 Chevy Equinox!

I spoke with my contact at Blue Ox and he said the following:

"We have heard the Equinox may have that issue from other customers. It is something they need to contact GM about, it has nothing to do with the Blue Ox equipment. Some GM SUV’s and especially Jeep Cherokee’s have had this type of issue."

So, it sounds like this is a known issue, but it's more on the Chevy side of things than the flow towing tools being used. I recommend reaching out to the dealership that you purchased the Equinox from and see if they have any tips or tricks on how to keep this from happening.

Hey Ben, did you get a chance to reach out to your dealership about the tire squealing issue with your Equinox? I'm curious to know if they had any advice that might help others facing the same problem.
