Bolt Pattern and Caster Wheel for the 2,000 lb Lippert A-Frame Trailer Jack

Updated 08/28/2025 | Published 08/27/2025

Question:

I am interested in the Lippert A-frame jack, 2000lb. To replace one on a Chalet A-Frame pop-up camper. What is the bolt circle dimension ie will it fit?. And what is the source of a caster wheel for this?

Hey Edward!

The Lippert A-Frame Trailer Jack # LC285420 has a 3" bolt pattern (on center) which is standard for an A-Frame jack.

For a caster wheel I recommend picking up the Bulldog # BDCP555 since it has a 1,500 lb rating so you only lose 500 lbs for the tongue weight.

Was your previous jack just old and worn out?

My existing jack (on the Chalet A-frame) is an Atwood, and works fine. The caster wheel needs replacing. But it fits over a 1-3/4" shaft on the Atwood jack, and I have been unable to find a caster wheel to fit. So my alternative solution is to buy a new jack and wheel together. But, my Atwood jack appears to have a bolt circle slightly larger than 3" (it calculates out to 3.4" D). So, I have 2 questions: - Can your Lippert 2000 lb jack fit a bolt circle up to 3.4"? - Alternatively, could you supply a caster wheel that would fit on a 1-3/4" shaft?

@EdwardK Yes, the bolt pattern will work with a slightly larger fit like what you have. The Dutton-Lainson Wheel # DL22414 will work with a 1-3/4" inner diameter tube, but it does have a lower capacity at 1,000 lbs. I'm not sure what your current Atwood jack is rated for, but I wanted to make sure you were mindful of this.

Thanks that's helpful. I'll just buy the wheel.
