Question:

I want to get crossbars for my 2024 Outback Wilderness. Its Geyser Blue just like the one in your videos. I like the look of the Rhino Rack Vortex but have concerns for sunroof clearance. Does it still open or should I choose the Yakima Timberline FX instead? Is there adequate clearance for skis to attach to a ski rack with bindings down?

Hey Kris, thanks for reaching out!

I see that you've already purchased the Yakima TimberLine FX Roof Rack # Y48UV and paired it with the Same Key System # Y07204 for your 2024 Outback Wagon, which is exactly what I would have recommended.

When we installed the TimberLine FX on the Outback Wagon that you referenced, we found that it increased the height of the vehicle by 4". I'm not sure if you'll have enough space for the ski bindings to be down, but you can compare that with your ski carrier to check that out.

Do you plan on using this just for your skis, or do you have some other plans in mind as well?

Hey Kris, did the Yakima TimberLine FX work out for your sunroof clearance and ski rack setup on your Outback? I'm curious to know because your experience could help others with similar setups.

@JonG Excellent fit and super easy installation. As it turns out the sunroof actually pushes back inside the roof. It was a gift for my son and I was not aware if this.
