Purpose of Black Grommet in DeeMax Disc Brake Kit DE66YR
Updated 08/25/2025 | Published 08/17/2025 >
Question:
Im just opening the boxes to check the contents before installing them. Each box has one black seal about 1-1/4inch in diameter. The part is not shown in the illustration of parts on the outside and isnt mentioned in the instructions or your videos. I am attaching a photo of it next to a caliper for scale. Any ideas? Thanks, Lenny

Hey Leonard, I am not sure why they included those grommets with the DeeMax Disc Brake Kit part # DE66YR but you can disregard them as they aren't needed.

Thanks for the reply, part of my confusion was that it fits on the spindle where the outer bearing is, but there isn't room for both. On another note, I was working with an experienced auto brake mechanic and ran into a problem with the caliper bracket bolts. Of the first five bolts three seized up just before being fully tightened. This was with hand tools only and was bad enough that we broke one of them using a pipe onn a breaker bar. I wound up replacing the rest with some from a local supplier and had no more problems. Other than that, it's a nicely put together product. Thanks again, Lenny
