• Is There A 1.5" Hitch To 2" Hitch Adapter?
  Hi Dan! I have a couple potentially dumb questions. Are you sure you have a 1.5" hitch receiver? Was that measured at the inside or outside of the hitch opening? And if it is truly 1.5" for the inside of the receiver, what is this hitch on? The standard hitch sizes are 1-1/4", 2", 2-1/2", and in some cases 3", so I am definitely curious. • Can I Carry My Reese Cargo Carrier And A Bike Rack At The Same Time?
  Hello Allison. The 1.5" square opening on the end of your Reese cargo basket is not meant to be used for this purpose. This tube is simply an extension of the 2" receiver tube and is basically the "backbone" of the carrier. This tube is not meant to have a bike rack attached to it, so there is no adapter I can offer you as this would be highly unsafe. You will need to remove the cargo basket in order to carry a bike rack.

• Hitch Adapter Recommendation for a 1-5/8 inch Hitch
  The only thing we offer for a 1-5/8 inch hitch is an adapter like part # HT58 that will convert it to a 2 inch hitch. Adapters like this do cut the capacity of the hitch in half. I also attached a link to a page that has all of the 2 inch hitch ball mounts we carry.

  Since 1-3/4 inch isn't a standard hitch size we don't have an adapter for what you described. Most likely you'd need a 1-5/8 inch adapter like the # HT58 that you referenced or 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch like the # HTAD since these are current trailer sizes.

  I went out to the warehouse and pulled Brophy hitch adapter # HT58 to take some measurements. The overall length of the 1-5/8 inch part is 4-3/8 from the end to the larger part but 4-1/8 inches when measuring to the weld bead. The overall length is approximately 10-3/4 to 10-7/8 inches. From the center of one hitch pin hole to the center of the other it is 7-1/4 inches.
