Question:

Since this hitch height is fixed, how do you know if it will work with your trailer?

Great question, Rick!

The fixed 18-3/8" height of the PullRite SuperGlide # PUL83RR is really the only downside to this hitch, but you'll still be able to adjust the height of your pin box which is why this 5th wheel hitch is still compatible with a lot of towing setups out on the road. Here's how you can verify if this will work with your 5th wheel trailer:

1. Park your truck and trailer on level ground and then uncouple.
2. Measure from the ground to the bed of your truck (B).
3. Add the 18-3/8" hitch height to the measurement from Step 2.
4. Level out your 5th wheel trailer front to back.
5. Measure from the ground to the bottom of the pin box plate - not the king pin (A).
6. Compare measurement from Step 3 to measurement from Step 5.
7. Adjust your 5th wheel pin box up or down on brackets to account for difference in height (this doesn't have to be PERFECLTY level - just close enough).

If you aren't able to get your 5th wheel fairly leveled out by adjusting the pin box, then I recommend using the Demco Autoslide # DM29GV instead. The Demco is VERY similar in how it operates, but it has 18" and 19-1/2" height settings so you have a little more wiggle room to level out your towing rig.

Does this help?

Hey Rick, Did you get a chance to try adjusting your pin box to see if the PullRite SuperGlide hitch works with your trailer? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others with similar setups.
