Question:
Hello I deliver and pick up mobile cooking units on wheels trailers have 4-6 tires and are 24’ to 48’ long. I deliver one to three units a week, looking for a monitoring system that can easily be transferred from one unit to an other sometimes twice a day. I use either pickups or road tractors to move units. Recently on the longer trips 200-600 miles I have had blowouts on trailer tires. What system would you recommend for my situation?

Hey Bert, this is an interesting question. Let me ask you this: how many trailers do you have total? Basically all of the tire pressure monitoring systems we offer require a repeater to be mounted permanently on the trailer. It sounds like you will be using multiple tow vehicles, so the only TPMS I could see potentially working for this is the following:
- Tire Linc OneControl TPMS w/ Signal Booster for RVs and Trailers - Bluetooth - 4 Tire Sensors # C54VV
This allows you to monitor tire pressure with your smartphone, so you would not need to install a dedicated monitor in each tow vehicle. You would need to install a repeater on each trailer, and the system can monitor up to 20 tires. You would have to either put sensors on each trailer tire and just keep them there, or you would have to transfer the sensors to whatever trailer you are towing then get everything synced up on the app.
All of the other systems we offer would be more permanently installed on the truck and trailer, so this would be our best option for multiple trailers and multiple tow vehicles. The cost of the repeaters is the only real obstacle here since you would need a whole kit for each trailer. The sensors can be purchased separately as part # C34VV.
Let me know what you think or if you have any questions.
