Hello Jeanne, thanks for reaching out. The Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent # VP-543SP cannot get wet from the inside. So it should not be used in a shower or bath tub.

I typically would not recommend installing a powered vent in a shower or bath tub for fear of water damaging the vent. That said, I have heard of people doing just that and it working fine. It would just void the warranty for most vents and you would not be covered if something were to go wrong.

The only powered roof vent we offer that can be installed in a shower is the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote # MA00-07500K. MaxxAir does not list any restrictions as far as installation in a shower so this would be what I recommend if you must have a powered vent.

Otherwise, the best option would be to install a non-powered vent like the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent - White # MA00-03700 or # MA00-03750 for Black.
