The video for the 2019 Honda Odyssey showed that the alignment collar couldn’t be utilized because of the position of the rack in relation to the rear fender. Does this cause any instability in the rack? I have a 2020 Honda Odyssey, which is the same design as the 2019 model.

Hello Andrew,

Great question. By not using the collar on the Benton Shifts&Grins Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel or Frame Mount # B82FR, you may notice a little extra noise from the rattle, but the rack will still be stable to use. You could also add the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches # RM-061 to help reduce the rattle, it doesn’t have a knob that would be in the way. I’ve attached an image to show how it installs.

I’m not sure which hitch is installed on the Odyssey in the video. If your hitch receiver sticks out a bit farther, you won’t touch the bumper. In the video, Aiden was still able to use it, but I want to mention that the small knob may contact the bumper slightly, which could cause a very small wear spot over time.

I have personally played with this bike rack. We actually did a relay race here when we had to get a car loaded like going on a family vacation and this is the rack that we used. It's a great sturdy bike rack that is super user friendly, and at a great cost!

Do you have a trail near by that you guys like to go riding on? We have the Katy Trail here in Missouri and it is always loaded with bikes!

Hey John, the threads of the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar #e38FV that you referenced do not have loc tite on them but you wouldn't have to worry about the bolt coming loose since it'll be pretty tight.
