Can it be used upside down to eliminate any weight on the tensioner?

Hello Mike,

Great question. The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2" Hitch Receivers # e38FV cannot be installed upside down, and here is the reason why:

Our configuration places the tensioner on top with the knob on the bottom, which eliminates unnecessary weight on the tensioner. This setup allows gravity to assist in securing the hitch, reducing stress on the mechanism and improving overall stability. I attached an image so you can see where the internal gate (the tensioner) is located.

Once you get things set up and put it to use, please let me know what you think about it. We have some people in the office that have been trying it out and I have heard great things about it!
